As a senior attending Portland State University, my studies revolve around international politics, Spanish, and French, and I plan to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2015. I specialize in tutoring students in Spanish levels 1, 2, 3, and 4; AP-level Spanish; and French levels 1, 2, and 3. I also excel at tutoring students in English, including helping students with research, composition, and editing papers, and algebra. Additionally, I enjoy helping students with ACT test prep, including ACT-level math, reading, science, and writing.I believe that secondary education is extremely important, as it helps children develop mentally, socially, and academically. I'm very outgoing and enjoy interacting with my students so that they feel comfortable addressing the academic obstacles they are trying to overcome. I think that in order for students to learn effectively, they need to be able to learn in a relaxed atmosphere that helps them alleviate any anxiety they are feeling in regards to school and testing. Because of this, I tend to take a relaxed approach to tutoring so that my students are able to comprehend and retain the information they are studying at a pace that's good for them.I'm an adventurous person who loves photography, hiking, and traveling -- I've been to 18 different countries. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, reading, photography, gardening, hiking, entertaining, and live music. I also love to cook, and consider myself an amateur foodie.
